Bad Boy executive Andre Harrell has just partnered with Voxonic, a speech-conversion software that
can flawlessly translate your favorite rapper's voice into foreign languages.
With Voxonic, emcees like Biggie, Jay-Z, Mase, Ludacris and T.I.'s lyrics could now be translated in
perfect French, German, Japanese and Spanish. Word is the system can reproduce a specific voice in any
language of its choice.
Voxonic has already been used for film dubbing and corporate communications. Upon meeting Voxonic's
executive, Harrell formed a partnership and convinced the software developer to focus on music. The
use of the system could possibly produce translated album and ringtones, among countless other options.
However, it's questionable how Voxonic will handle street slang and ebonics.
"We think we're on the edge of something big," Harrell told New York's Daily News.
In related news, Harrell has been working with Danity Kane, the winners of MTV's "Making The Band 3." The
group's self-titled debut album, Danity Kane, hit stores (August 22).
